Tip #2, Change your bulbs to Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs.
Changing your light bulbs to Compact Fluorescent light bulbs (CFL's)can save you a ton on your electric bill.
" If every American home replaced just one light bulb with an ENERGY STAR qualified bulb, we would save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes for a year, more than $600 million in annual energy costs, and prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions of more than 800,000 cars."

CFL's use less electricity so consider this. Add up the number of regular incandescent light bulbs in your home and multiply it by at the very least $30.00, that is what you would at a minimum save over the life of the bulb.
The upfront cost is higher but every light doesn't need to be changed tomorrow. Go one room per month and you will be surprised at the savings you see by the end of the year.
